TL;DR: An optimized patient care program for patients undergoing open infrarenal aortic aneurysm repair was introduced and evaluated which showed a significant advantage for “fast-track” patients in terms of postoperative morbidity.

TL;DR: For open infrarenal aneurysm repair the feasibility and safety of a fast track program could be demonstrated and for the length of ICU treatment, time to complete oral food intake and morbidity the fastTrack program appears to be superior to the traditional regimen.

TL;DR: In the presence of aortic diameters of 12–30 mm, only the smallest thoracic stent graft systems available from Gore, Medtronic, and Cook—in one instance, an iliac extension limb—were used, and the primary success rate was 100%.
