Synthesis of pure amorphous Fe2O3
TL;DR: In this article, a method for the preparation of pure amorphous Fe2O3 powder with particle size of 25 nm is reported, which can be simply synthesized by the sonication of neat Fe(CO)5 or its solution in decalin under an air atmosphere.

Blocking temperatures of amorphous iron nanoparticles coated by various surfactants
TL;DR: In this article, the blocking temperature of the alkyl chain was investigated for one functional group and showed that it is only slightly dependent on the length of the chain and the nature of the functional group bonded to the iron particles.

The adsorption of monolayer coatings on iron nanoparticles: Mössbauer spectroscopy and XANES results
TL;DR: In this article, a trivalent iron atom is detected as bound to the SDS surfactant by both, XANES and Mossbauer spectroscopies.

Effect of surfactant concentration on the size of coated ferromagnetic nanoparticles
TL;DR: In this article, the average size of the coated ferromagnetic Fe2O3 nanoparticles is controlled by the surfactant concentration in the coating solution, where surface contribution is determined by the bonding energy between the SH-group and Fe 2O3.

Characterization of self-assembled alcohols coatings on amorphous iron
TL;DR: In this article, self-assembled coatings of long chain alcohols on nanoparticles of amorphous iron were formed, and the thermal stability of these coatings was investigated by using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC).
