Involvement of protein in scrapie agent infectivity.
TL;DR: It is shown here that the broad range protease, proteinase K, reduces scrapie infectivity under all conditions tested and suggests that the protein involved may be a surface component, but whether the component is an integral or secondary part of the agent is not known.

An Examination of the Action of Whole Blood, Blood Cells or Serum on the Goat Scrapie Agent
TL;DR: No evidence was obtained from in vitro or in vivo experiments that blood obtained from clinically healthy or scrapie-affected goats had an inhibitory action on the goat scrapie agent as discussed by the authors.

G.D. Hunter,G.C. Millson +1 more
TL;DR: It has been shown by titration procedures that saline extracts of brain from mice affected with scrapie are more infective than corresponding extracts from spleens of the same animals.
