Interleukin (IL)-2 Is a Key Regulator of T Helper 1 and T Helper 2 Cytokine Expression in Fish: Functional Characterization of Two Divergent IL2 Paralogs in Salmonids
Tiehui Wang,Yehfang Hu,Eakapol Wangkahart,Eakapol Wangkahart,Fuguo Liu,Alex Wang,Eman Zahran,Eman Zahran,Kevin Maisey,Min Liu,Qiaoqing Xu,Qiaoqing Xu,Mónica Imarai,Christopher J. Secombes +13 more
TL;DR: It is suggested, for the first time, that IL-2 isoforms may have an important role in regulating Th1 and Th2 cell development, and innate and adaptive host defenses in fish, and shed light on lineage-specific expansion, evolution, and functional diversification of IL2 in vertebrates.
Edwardsiella tarda Outer Membrane Protein C: An Immunogenic Protein Induces Highly Protective Effects in Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) against Edwardsiellosis.
TL;DR: Results demonstrated that rOmpC could evoke highly protective effects against E. tarda challenge and induce strong innate immune response and humoral immune response of flounder, which indicated that OmpC was a promising vaccine candidate against E-Tarda infection.

Rapid detection of Chattonella marina by PCR combined with dot lateral flow strip
TL;DR: In this article , a novel technique referred to as PCR combined with dot lateral flow strip (PCDS) is proposed and its application to the detection of harmful microalgae was explored.
Comparative study of the vaccine potential of six outer membrane proteins of Edwardsiella tarda and the immune responses of flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) after vaccination.
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that ROmpI and rOmpX could produce a RPS of over 80% against the challenge of E. tarda and induce stronger immune responses in flounder, which indicates that OMPI and OmpX are promising vaccine candidates against E.Tarda.

Characterisation of rainbow trout peripheral blood leucocytes prepared by hypotonic lysis of erythrocytes, and analysis of their phagocytic activity, proliferation and response to PAMPs and proinflammatory cytokines
Yehfang Hu,Kevin Maisey,Parasuraman Aiya Subramani,Fuguo Liu,Camila Flores-Kossack,Mónica Imarai,Christopher J. Secombes,Tiehui Wang +7 more
TL;DR: Data demonstrate the utility of this approach (hypotonic lysis of erythrocytes) for PBL isolation and will enable more studies of their role in disease protection in future immunological and vaccine development research in fish.
