Case studies in reproducibility
Torsten Hothorn,Friedrich Leisch +1 more
TL;DR: A survey comprising 100 papers recently published in Bioinformatics finds that authors of this journal share a culture of making data available, but the number of papers where source code for simulation studies or analyzes is still rather limited.
Benchmarking Support Vector Machines
David Meyer,Friedrich Leisch,Kurt Hornik +2 more
- 01 Jan 2002
TL;DR: A popular SVM implementation is compared to 16 classification methods and 9 regression methods accessible through the software R by the means of standard performance measures and bias-variance decompositions which showed mostly good performances both on classification and regression tasks, but other methods proved to be very competitive.

A toolbox for bicluster analysis in R
Sebastian Kaiser,Friedrich Leisch +1 more
- 16 Apr 2008
TL;DR: The R package biclust is introduced, which contains a collection of bicluster algorithms, preprocessing methods for two way data, and validation and visualization techniques for bicuster results.
Segmenting Markets by Bagged Clustering
Sara Dolnicar,Friedrich Leisch +1 more
TL;DR: Bagged clustering is introduced as a new approach in the field of post hoc market segmentation research and the managerial advantages over both hierarchical and partitioning algorithms, especially with large binary data sets are illustrated.
