A cross-country analysis of Divisia covariances of prices and quantities consumed
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed price-quantity covariances obtained from consumption data for 15 countries in terms of real-income and relative price differences of these countries and found that more than 70 percent of the observed cross-country variation in the covariance is accounted for by these differences.

A cross-country consumption comparison based on divisia variances and covariances
TL;DR: A preliminary analysis of price and quantity data of the consumption in 16 countries, based on Divisia variances and covariances, indicates that poor countries are pairwise much more different than affluent countries are as mentioned in this paper.

Statistical inference in cross-country demand systems
TL;DR: In this paper, consumption data on eight goods in 15 countries were used for testing and estimating a system of demand equations across countries, and the estimated income elasticities were compared with those of Clements et al. (1979) and Houthakker (1957).

A cross-country analysis of divisia variances of quantities and budget shares
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed variances of quantities consumed and budget shares for 105 pairs of countries in terms of real-income, relative-price, and residual effects and found that luxuries tend to be more expensive relative to necessities in richer countries.
