Aqueous Cr(VI) reduction by pyrite: Speciation and characterisation of the solid phases by X-ray photoelectron, Raman and X-ray absorption spectroscopies
TL;DR: In this article, confocal Raman micro-spectrometers were used to investigate the reduction of aqueous Cr(VI) by pyrite and the solid phase formed during the reaction process.

Carbon nanotubes randomly decorated with gold clusters: from nano2hybrid atomic structures to gas sensing prototypes
Jean-Christophe Charlier,Laurent Arnaud,I. Avilov,Mari Carmen Ruiz Delgado,Frédéric Demoisson,E.H. Espinosa,Christopher P. Ewels,Alexandre Felten,Jérôme Guillot,Radu Ionescu,R. Leghrib,Eduard Llobet,Ali Mansour,Henri-Noël Migeon,J.J. Pireaux,François Reniers,Irene Suarez-Martinez,G. Watson,Zeila Zanolli +18 more
TL;DR: The numerical simulations predict the binding and diffusion energies of gold atoms at the tube surface, including realistic atomic models for defects potentially present at the nanotube surface, and the atomic structure of the gold nanoclusters and their effect on the intrinsic electronic quantum transport properties of thenanotube are predicted.

Room-temperature, selective detection of benzene at trace levels using plasma-treated metal-decorated multiwalled carbon nanotubes
R. Leghrib,Alexandre Felten,Frédéric Demoisson,François Reniers,Jean-Jacques Pireaux,Eduard Llobet +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, an oxygen plasma-treated multiwalled carbon nanotubes decorated with metal nanoparticles (e.g., Rh, Pd, Au or Ni) can be tailored for the recognition of benzene vapors with high sensitivity and selectivity.

Gas sensing properties of multiwall carbon nanotubes decorated with rhodium nanoparticles
R. Leghrib,Thierry Dufour,Frédéric Demoisson,Frédéric Demoisson,Nicolas Claessens,François Reniers,Eduard Llobet +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a colloidal solution was used to decorate multiwalled carbon nanotubes with rhodium nanoparticles in the post-discharge of an RF atmospheric plasma of argon (Ar) or argon/oxygen (Ar:O 2 ).
Innovative Magnetic Nanoparticles for PET/MRI Bimodal Imaging

TL;DR: The functionalized superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles showed promising bimodal (PET and MRI) imaging capability with high r2 and r2* (T2 and T2* relaxivities) values and good stability and appear as a good candidate for bimmodal tracers in PET/MRI.
