A rock physics and seismic reservoir characterization study of the Rock Springs Uplift, a carbon dioxide sequestration site in Southwestern Wyoming
Dario Grana,Sumit Verma,Josiane Pafeng,Xiaozheng Lang,Hema Sharma,Wenting Wu,Fred McLaughlin,Erin Campbell,Kam Ng,Vladimir Alvarado,Subhashis Mallick,John P. Kaszuba +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a reservoir geophysics study, including rock physics modeling and seismic inversion, of a carbon dioxide sequestration site in Southwestern Wyoming, namely the Rock Springs Uplift, and build a petrophysical model for the potential injection reservoirs for CO2 sequestration, including facies classification and the estimation of the spatial model of porosity and permeability for two sequestration targets of interest, the Madison Limestone and the Weber Sandstone.

Opportunity and Challenges of Integrated Enhanced Oil Recovery Using CO2 Flooding with Geological CO2 Storage in the Ordos Basin, China
Jiao Zunsheng,Zhou Lifa,Gao Runmin,Luo Tingting,Wang Hong,Heng Wang,Fred McLaughlin,Ramsey D. Bentley,Scott Quillinan +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of the reservoir characterization and CO 2 flooding simulation show that integrating CO 2 EOR with geological CO 2 storage is a viable way to reduce CO 2 emission in the Ordos Basin, China.

A Field Demonstration of an Active Reservoir Pressure Management through Fluid Injection and Displaced Fluid Extraction at the Rock Springs Uplift a Priority Geologic CO2 Storage Site for Wyoming
Zunsheng Jiao,Rajesh J. Pawar,Andrew Duguid,William L. Bourcier,C. Haussmann,Kipp Coddington,Dylan R. Harp,Yuriy Ganshin,Scott Quillinan,Fred McLaughlin,R. Ramsey +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a brine extraction storage test (BEST) project at the Rock Springs Uplift (RSU), southwest Wyoming, is described, where the initial phase is used to predict and monitor the differential pressure and injected fluid movement, and the second phase is to develop a test-bed for deploying treatment technologies for extracted brines.

Bayesian Facies Classification in a CO2 Sequestration Study using Statistical Rock Physics Modeling of Elastic and Electrical Properties
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a workflow to define a geologically consistent facies classification at the well location, to accurately reconstruct this classification using elastic and electrical properties, and to extend the classification to the 3D reservoir model.
