Mechanism of phase separation in a weakly interacting system with strong dynamic asymmetry
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the dynamics of phase separation in a bisphenol A diglycidyl ether (BADGE)-poly(trimethylene terephthalate) (PTT) blend, along with its effects on the long-term mechanical properties of the blend.

The sensitivity of donor - acceptor charge transfer to molecular geometry in DAN - NDI based supramolecular flower-like self-assemblies
Mohammad Al Kobaisi,Rajesh S. Bhosale,Mohamed E. El-Khouly,Mohamed E. El-Khouly,Duong Duc La,Sachin D. Padghan,Sidhanath V. Bhosale,Lathe A. Jones,Frank Antolasic,Shunichi Fukuzumi,Shunichi Fukuzumi,Sheshanath V. Bhosale +11 more
TL;DR: A charge-transfer complex self-assembled from an electron acceptor (NDI-EA: naphthalene diimide with appended diamine) and an electron donor (DAN: phosphonic acid-appended dialkoxynapthalene) in aqueous medium with flower-shaped assembly was visualized by scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy.
Highly Selective CO2 Gas Sensing Properties of CaO-BaTiO3 Heterostructures Effectuated through Discretely Created n-n Nanointerfaces
Shravanti Joshi,Shravanti Joshi,Frank Antolasic,Manorama V. Sunkara,Suresh K. Bhargava,Samuel J. Ippolito +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, a simple strategy for highly selective CO2 detection using an inexpensive transducer platform based on reversible chemisorbed carbonation between CO2 and CaO-BaTiO3 heterostructures is presented.

The preparation of a AuCN/prussian blue nanocube composite through galvanic replacement enhances stability for electrocatalysis
Baiyu Ren,Lathe A. Jones,Daniel K. Oppedisano,Ahmad Esmaielzadeh Kandjani,Miao Chen,Miao Chen,Frank Antolasic,Samuel J. Ippolito,Suresh K. Bhargava +8 more
- 03 Jul 2017
TL;DR: A stable AuCN/Prussian Blue (PB) composite was prepared by galvanic replacement of PB cubes with HAuCl4 solution, which leads to a composite with an increased surface area and pore volume, but smaller surface pore sizes than pure PB cubes as mentioned in this paper.

Tuning the oxygen functional groups in reduced graphene oxide papers to enhance the electromechanical actuation
Ganaka G. Chandrakumara,Jin Shang,Ling Qiu,Xi-Ya Fang,Frank Antolasic,Christopher D. Easton,Jingchao Song,Tuncay Alan,Dan Li,Jefferson Zhe Liu +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an easy approach to significantly improve the electromechanical actuation of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) papers via fine tuning the oxygen functional groups in rGO sheets, which was achieved by careful control of quantity of the reduction agent used in the chemical reduction process of graphene oxide.
