Emilie Arnault,Emilie Arnault,Emilie Arnault,Coralie Barrau,Céline Nanteau,Céline Nanteau,Céline Nanteau,Pauline Gondouin,Pauline Gondouin,Pauline Gondouin,Karine Bigot,Karine Bigot,Karine Bigot,Françoise Viénot,Emmanuel Gutman,Emmanuel Gutman,Emmanuel Gutman,Valérie Fontaine,Valérie Fontaine,Valérie Fontaine,Thierry Villette,Denis Cohen-Tannoudji,José-Alain Sahel,Serge Picaud +23 more
TL;DR: Surprisingly, a narrow bandwidth in blue light generated the greatest phototoxic risk to retinal pigment epithelium cells, and may be advantageously valued in designing selective photoprotection ophthalmic filters, without disrupting essential visual and non-visual functions of the eye.
Light-emitting diodes (LED) for domestic lighting: any risks for the eye?
Francine Behar-Cohen,Francine Behar-Cohen,Christophe Martinsons,Françoise Viénot,Georges Zissis,A. Barlier-Salsi,J.P. Cesarini,Olivier Enouf,M. Garcia,Serge Picaud,Dina Attia +10 more
TL;DR: A comprehensive analysis of the potential risks of white LEDs is given, taking into account pre-clinical knowledge as well as epidemiologic studies and reports the French Agency's recommendations to avoid potential retinal hazards.
