TL;DR: The TOTEM experiment at the LHC measured the total proton-proton cross section with the luminosity-independent method and the elastic proton proton cross-section over a wide |t|-range.

Ultra Thin 3D Silicon Detector for Plasma Diagnostics at the ITER Tokamak
Francisco Garcia,Giulio Pellegrini,Manuel Lozano,J.P. Balbuena,C. Fleta,Consuelo Guardiola,David Quirion +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, an ultra thin silicon detector called U3DTHIN has been designed and built for neutral particle analyzers (NPA) and thermal neutron detection, which is based on very thin sensitive substrate which will provide nearly 100% detection efficiency for ions and at the same time very low sensitivity for the neutron and gamma radiation.
Simulations of the GEM-TPC response
A. Prochazka,Francisco Garcia,R. Janik,E. Tuominen,Peter Strmen,B. Sitar,Bernd Voss,J. Kunkel,C. Nociforo,M. Pikna,V. Kleipa,R. Turpeinen +11 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: The GEM-TPC detector response to 1GeV/u Au projectile was simulated to be a standard tracking detector for the Super-FRS and the induced charge on the readout plane strips was calculated using the Shockley-Ramo theorem.

AWAGS: A single ASIC to identify fast ions from protons to uranium
P. Wieczorek,Holger Flemming,N. Kurz,S. Löchner,C. Nociforo,C. J. Schmidt,Herbert A. Simon,Burkart Voss,M. Winkler,Francisco Garcia,T. Grahn,M. Luoma,Elena Rocco +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focus on the electronics for a new Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM)-based Time Projection Chamber (TPC) to provide position information, which are needed to reconstruct the A/q of the fragment from protons to uranium ions.

Winkler +32 more
TL;DR: The GEM-TPC detector will be part of the standard Super-FRS detection system, as tracker detectors at several focal stations along the separator and its three branches as discussed by the authors.
