The role of endothelial colony forming cells in kidney cancer’s pathogenesis, and in resistance to anti-VEGFR agents and mTOR inhibitors: A speculative review
Valentina Poletto,Vittorio Rosti,Marco Biggiogera,Germano Guerra,Francesco Moccia,Camillo Porta +5 more
TL;DR: Circulating endothelial cells are a family of mainly bone marrow-derived progenitors, which have been postulated to be responsible of the reactivation of angiogenesis in different tumors, and their possible role in determining resistance to presently available treatments is discussed.

Targeting the Endothelial Ca2+ Toolkit to Rescue Endothelial Dysfunction in Obesity Associated-Hypertension.
TL;DR: The endothelial Ca 2+ toolkit could be targeted to reduce vascular damage and rescue endothelium-dependent vasodilation in obese vessels and this hypothesis remains, however, to be probed on truly obese endothelial cells.

Targeting Endolysosomal Two-Pore Channels to Treat Cardiovascular Disorders in the Novel COronaVIrus Disease 2019
Francesco Moccia,Sharon Negri,Pawan Faris,Angelica Perna,Antonio De Luca,Teresa Soda,Roberto Berra-Romani,Germano Guerra +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarize the biophysical and pharmacological features of TPCs, illustrate their emerging role in the cardiovascular system, and finally present them as a reliable target to treat cardiovascular complications in COVID-19 patients.
Type 2 Diabetes Alters Intracellular Ca2+ Handling in Native Endothelium of Excised Rat Aorta
Roberto Berra-Romani,Alejandro Guzman-Silva,Ajelet Vargaz-Guadarrama,Juan Carlos Flores-Alonso,José Alonso-Romero,Samuel Treviño,Josué Sánchez-Gómez,Nayeli Coyotl-Santiago,Mario García-Carrasco,Francesco Moccia +9 more
TL;DR: Analyzing for the first time the Ca2+ response to the physiological autacoid ATP in native aortic endothelium of obese Zucker diabetic fatty (OZDF) rats and their lean controls, which are termed LZDF rats sheds new light on the mechanisms by which type 2 diabetes mellitus may cause endothelial dysfunction by remodeling the intracellular Ca 2+ toolkit.

Endothelial signaling at the core of neurovascular coupling: The emerging role of endothelial inward-rectifier K+ (Kir2.1) channels and N-methyl-d-aspartate receptors in the regulation of cerebral blood flow.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors discuss the hypothesis that endothelial Kir2.1 channels and NMDARs play a key role in NVC and in CBF regulation, which is crucial to unravel the cellular and molecular underpinnings of blood oxygen level dependent signals.
