TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined the association between long-term exposure to ambient air pollution and PD mortality in seven European cohorts and found that PM2.5, at levels well below current EU air pollution limit values, may contribute to PD mortality.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the spatial variation of OP within and between 10 European study areas and developed land use regression (LUR) models to explain the measured spatial variation, finding that OP DTT levels were highest in southern Europe.

TL;DR: In December 2013, at the end of the EU Year of Air, the Commission presented its new policy plan, which does not revise the limit values in the Air Quality Directive and does not make mandatory the voluntary exposure reduction targets, but now proposes introducing a medium-size combustion plant emissions directive and further reductions of the so-called National Emission Ceilings.
