HIV-1 adenoviral vector vaccines expressing multi-trimeric BAFF and 4-1BBL enhance T cell mediated anti-viral immunity.
Saravana Kanagavelu,James M. Termini,Sachin Gupta,Francesca N. Raffa,Katherine A. Fuller,Yaelis Rivas,Sakhi Philip,Richard S. Kornbluth,Geoffrey W. Stone +8 more
TL;DR: Soluble multi-trimeric SP-D-4-1BBL and SP-d-BAFF provide a novel technology to enhance adenoviral vector vaccines against HIV-1, and IL-12p70, despite lack of anti-viral efficacy, increased the total numbers of splenic dextramer positive CD8+ T cells, effector memory T cells and effector Gag-specific CD8+.
Educational Value of a Medical Student-Led Head and Neck Cancer Screening Event.
Monika E. Freiser,Dipan D. Desai,Patrick M. Azcarate,Mikhaylo Szczupak,Erin R. Cohen,Francesca N. Raffa,Joshua S. George,Kaming Lo,Chetan S. Nayak,Donald T. Weed,Zoukaa Sargi +10 more
TL;DR: This innovative approach to students’ education via participation and organization of screening events is a useful method of improving their HNC knowledge.

Vaccination with a Fusion Protein That Introduces HIV-1 Gag Antigen into a Multitrimer CD40L Construct Results in Enhanced CD8+ T Cell Responses and Protection from Viral Challenge by Vaccinia-Gag
Sachin Gupta,James M. Termini,Francesca N. Raffa,Cindi Ann Williams,Richard S. Kornbluth,Geoffrey W. Stone +5 more
TL;DR: Results show the potential of a new vaccine design in which antigen is introduced into a construct that expresses a multitrimer soluble form of CD40L, leading to strongly protective CD8+ T cell responses.

Epstein Barr virus Latent Membrane Protein-1 enhances dendritic cell therapy lymph node migration, activation, and IL-12 secretion
James M. Termini,Sachin Gupta,Francesca N. Raffa,Elizabeth Guirado,Margaret A. Fischl,Liguo Niu,Saravana Kanagavelu,Geoffrey W. Stone +7 more
TL;DR: LMP1 matured and activated DC, induced migration to the lymph node, and generated high levels of IL-12p70 in a murine model, proposing LMP1 as a promising molecular adjuvant for DC vaccines.
Changing Trends of Speech Outcomes after Total Laryngectomy in the 21st Century
Seo Moon,Francesca N. Raffa,Rosemary Ojo,Mario A. Landera,Donald T. Weed,Zoukaa Sargi,Donna S. Lundy +6 more
TL;DR: The current gold standard for speech rehabilitation should be readdressed, as it may not adequately meet the need of the current patient populations, and more up-to-date techniques and technologies are needed to improve the communication and speech rehabilitation of current laryngectomy patients.
