A Literature Review of CO2, Natural Gas, and Water-Based Fluids for Enhanced Oil Recovery in Unconventional Reservoirs
Lauren C. Burrows,Lauren C. Burrows,Foad Haeri,Foad Haeri,Patricia Cvetic,Patricia Cvetic,Sean Sanguinito,Sean Sanguinito,Fan Shi,Fan Shi,Deepak Tapriyal,Deepak Tapriyal,Angela Goodman,Robert M. Enick +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the development of an economically viable enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techni cation is discussed, which is typically less than 10% of the primary primary oil recovery from fractured unconventional formations, such as shale or tight sands.

Contact Angle Measurements Using Sessile Drop and Micro-CT Data from Six Sandstones
Laura E. Dalton,Laura E. Dalton,Deepak Tapriyal,Deepak Tapriyal,Dustin Crandall,Angela Goodman,Fan Shi,Fan Shi,Foad Haeri,Foad Haeri +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, six sandstones (Bandera Brown, Berea, Bentheimer, Mt. Simon, Navajo, and Nugget) were used to measure static contact angles (θ) using the two aforementioned experimental methods at identical testing conditions (45 ÂC and 12.41 ÂMPa).

Underground storage of hydrogen and hydrogen/methane mixtures in porous reservoirs: Influence of reservoir factors and engineering choices on deliverability and storage operations
Thomas A. Buscheck,Angela Goodman,Greg Lackey,Julia de Toledo Camargo,Nicolas J. Huerta,Foad Haeri,Gerad Freeman,Joshua White +7 more
TL;DR: This study investigates the feasibility of underground hydrogen storage in porous reservoirs, identifying key factors influencing reservoir behavior, well requirements, and storage volume, and recommends further research to guide deployment of hydrogen storage facilities.

CO2-Soluble Nonionic Surfactants for Enhanced CO2 Storage via In Situ Foam Generation
Lauren C. Burrows,Foad Haeri,Deepak Tapriyal,Parth Shah,Dustin Crandall,Robert M. Enick,Angela Goodman +6 more
- 03 Aug 2023
TL;DR: Nonionic surfactants dissolved in CO2 enhance CO2 storage in saline aquifers by generating in situ foams, reducing CO2-brine interfacial tension, and increasing apparent viscosity, thereby improving storage efficiency and resource by up to 17% in reservoir field injection scenarios.
