Стратегия интеграционных процессов в сфере науки и образования

Aircraft electrification is currently the best alternative to address the rising demand for more air transportation and deal with anticipated economic and environmental impacts. Although the all-electric-aircraft (AEA) concept is not yet a feasible solution, the more-electric aircraft (MEA) is gaining significant attention. Electrical systems either partially or entirely replace the large and inefficient hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical conventional aircraft actuating systems. The upgrade could also encompass the propulsion system, as in hybrid- and turbo-electric aircraft. This upgrade reduces the aircraft weight, reduces the usage of pollutant fluids, increases fuel efficiency, reduces carbon emissions, and increases aircraft controllability and reliability. This article reviews various application areas of electric machines in electrified aircraft, such as actuation, taxiing, propulsion, and generation. Moreover, it reviews the main types of currently/to be utilized electric machines and the critically required specifications. Finally, a comparison between the different considered machines and potential future research is discussed.

Review of Electric Machines in More-/Hybrid-/Turbo-Electric Aircraft

Problems of expanding the range of speed regulation in electric transport vehicles by replacing gear-shift transmission with a two-channel electric drive comprising two electric motors, each coupled with its own reducing gear units possessing different gear ratios. The output shafts of these reducing gear units are coupled to one differential speed-reduction device. To solve this problem, a mathematical model of the electric-motor drive has been developed and the static characteristics of the individual motors and characteristics of the motors with their output shafts driving one differential speed-reduction device have been determined. Steady conditions of the operation of a two-channel electric drive are considered. To describe real changes in the speed variables, the electromechanical transducer is approximated in the mathematical model with nonperiodic first-order links. The functions of the controlling effects, which are formed on the basis of the criterion of fullest utilization of electric machines with respect to their electromagnetic torque in stable conditions and in transient processes, were determined. Recommendations are given on application of the proposed solution to traction mechanisms, which should meet increased requirements to acceleration of electric-motor vehicles.

An electric traction drive for electric vehicles

Multipulse ac/dc rectifiers (MPRs) are widely used in aviation applications due to their rugged structure, cost effective, and high-reliability features. In this article, an overview of the recent advances and trends on the MPR technology, mainly the autoconfigured transformer-based MPRs, and its application in more electric aircrafts is performed. This article covers system topologies, transformer configurations, passive and active harmonic reduction schemes, case study, practical selection and design guidelines, and applications. To fairly evaluate the performances of MPRs with different pulse numbers, necessary simulation studies are carried out under comparable conditions, including power rating, input and output specifications, and transformer configuration. Then, an 18-pulse asymmetric delta-polygon configured prototype is established based on the simulation evaluation and experimental verification is performed. It is expected that this article can provide a broad perspective on MPR technology, and, in particular, highlight the latest emerged technology that significantly promotes the performances of MPRs. More importantly, it is desired that the results obtained in this article can provide an effective selection guideline and design suggestion for researchers and engineers engaged in designing MPRs, especially for aviation applications.

On the Possibility of Additive Printing of Electrical Machine Windings

Dual-phase magnetic material - a magnetic material in which, by processing, localized non-magnetic areas can be obtained to control the direction of the magnetic flux. Such properties can significantly improve the output characteristics of a number of topologies of electrical machines, as well as neutralize a number of the main disadvantages inherent in traditional designs of electrical machines. This paper presents a numerical study of the strength characteristics of the rotor of an electric starter-generator with permanent magnets with a dual-phase magnetic material. The optimal boundaries of racks for processing in the non-magnetic phase are determined.
