Water as Capital and Its Uses in the Caatinga
Eunice Maia de Andrade,Deodato do Nascimento Aquino,Luiz Carlos Guerreiro Chaves,Fernando Bezerra Lopes +3 more
- 01 Jan 2017
TL;DR: The rainfall regime in the Caatinga region is more strongly affected by the great spatio-temporal variability of the rains than by the total amount of rainfall precipitated annually, which results in several microclimates, from a desert climate in the central region to a rainy climate along the coastal areas and mountainsides due to orographic effects as mentioned in this paper.

Water quality index calculated from biological, physical and chemical attributes
TL;DR: The proposed WQI adequately expressed water quality, and can be used for monitoring surface water quality.

Assessment of the water quality in a large reservoir in semiarid region of Brazil
Fernando Bezerra Lopes,Eunice Maia de Andrade,Ana Célia Maia Meireles,Helena Becker,Adriana Alves Batista +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spatial and temporal variations in water quality of Oros reservoir, Ceara, Brazil, as well as the sources of contamination were identified using principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster analysis (CA).
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify the irrigation management and the rainfall depth influence over nitrate and chloride concentration in the soil profiles, as well as the risk of water table pollution in the Irrigated District of Baixo Acarau (DIBAU), Ceara, Brazil.
Adapting the National Sanitation Foundation water quality index to the Brazilian semiarid
Kássia Crislayne Duarte Ferreira,Fernando Bezerra Lopes,Eunice Maia de Andrade,Ana Célia Maia Meireles,Gerlange Soares da Silva +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the water quality index of the National Sanitation Foundation to the physical, chemical and biological conditions of artificial reservoirs in regions with tropical semiarid climate and its spatio-temporal variability.
