Electroelastic high-order computational continuum strategy for critical voltage and frequency of piezoelectric NEMS via modified multi-physical couple stress theory

This research studies the nonlinear buckling of two-dimensional functionally graded (2D-FG) nanotubes with porosity based on the Zhang-Fu theory of tubes, Timoshenko beam theory, and the nonlocal gradient strain theory (NSGT) as well as Von-Karmen nonlinear theory. In this paper, the formulation of the problem for various boundary conditions is generated according to the energy method. Then, the results are extracted by incorporating the generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM) coupled with the iteration method. The accuracy of the results is proven through comparative studies, and finally, the impact of different parameters, which influence the buckling of the nanotube, is investigated.

This study explores the thermo-viscoelasticity response of annular disks made of a functionally graded graphene platelet reinforced composite (FG-GPLRC). Random orientation is considered for GPL nanofillers. A power-law model with a controller index is also used to determine the GPL volume fraction distribution along the radial direction. The effective thermomechanical properties of the nanocomposite medium are calculated through the one-point and two-point correlation homogenization processes. The Kelvin-Voigt technique is employed to design the viscosity nature of the system. Coupled thermoelasticity is considered to attain the governing formulation because the considered disk is subjected to a sudden high temperature. Furthermore, by incorporating generalized thermoelasticity based on the Lord-Shulman concept, the physical structure of the problem is altered. The transient governing equations are solved based on a hybrid approach. The spatial dependency is solved using a Chebyshev-based generalized differential quadrature (GDQ) method, while the time dependency is calculated using an average acceleration-based Newmark technique. After confirming the described formulation and method with previous research, different parametric samples are given to explain more about the behavior of viscoelastic nanocomposite disks that are heated quickly and rotated at a constant rate. 

Application of Chebyshev-based GDQ and Newmark methods to viscothermoelasticity responses of FG composite annular systems

In this paper, the bending and buckling analysis of microbeam with the uniform and non-uniform cylindrical cross-section was examined based on the classical beam theory and the modified couple stress theory to model the micro-structures effects. The nonlinear effect of the Von-Karman theory is regarded to study the large-deflection effect on the buckling of microtubes. The conservation energy principle is used to derive the nonlinear equation of motion and the boundary conditions. The effect of several applicable cross-sections, including the linear, exponential, and convex function, on the static behavior of cylindrical beam is investigated, which is made by the porosity-dependent axially functionally graded material. The homotopy perturbation technique as a semi-analytical solution, coupled with the generalized differential quadrature method, is employed to obtain the nonlinear results. Eventually, the influence of various parameters such as the porosity, volume fraction index, bending load, nonlinear deflection, length-scale effect on the bending deflection, and buckling of microbeam with both clamped and pinned supported are analyzed in details.
