Oxidative stress in oocyte aging and female reproduction.
TL;DR: In this paper, the relationship between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants remain balanced and when the balance is broken toward an overabundance of ROS, oxidative stress appears and may lead to oocyte aging.

Characterization of swine testicular cell line as immature porcine Sertoli cell line
TL;DR: ST cells are a collection of immature SERToli cells which can be good experimental materials for the researches involved in Sertoli cell functions and maturation, or even in boar reproductions.

A SNP in the miR-27a gene is associated with litter size in pigs
TL;DR: In this article, the miR-27a gene was selected as a candidate gene for litter size due to its biological function, its location near a mummified pigs QTL, and its differentially expressed profile in Large White and Chinese Erhualian PMSG-hCG stimulated preovulatory ovaries.

Effect of pre-slaughter transport plant on blood constituents and meat quality in halothane genotype of NN Large White×Landrace pigs
TL;DR: In this paper, a 3 × 3 factorial experiment has been conducted to study the effects of different transport time (Short: 40min vs. Medium: 3h vs. Long: 5h) and stocking densities (Low: 5 pigs per pen or 230 kg/m2, Medium: 6 pigs per box or 275 kg /m2 and High: 7 pigs per bin or 325 kg/n2) on some blood constituents and meat quality of four hundred and thirty two pigs including seventy two pigs that had been DNA tested (genotype: NN).

Association of MYF5 and MYOD1 Gene Polymorphisms and Meat Quality Traits in Large White × Meishan F2 Pig Populations
Min Liu,Jian Peng,Dequan Xu,Rong Zheng,Fenge Li,Jialian Li,Bo Zuo,Minggang Lei,Yuanzhu Xiong,Chang-Yan Deng,Siwen Jiang +10 more
TL;DR: Analysis of the association of meat quality traits with the four polymorphisms suggested that the novel SNP of the MYF5 gene within exon 1 is valuable for pig breeding.
