Thermally induced positioning error modelling and compensation based on thermal characteristic analysis
TL;DR: In this article, an approach for modeling and compensation of a screw shaft is proposed to decrease the thermally induced positioning error of machine tools, which is determined to be dynamic pitch error, and its manifestations are discussed.

Straightness error compensation for large CNC gantry type milling centers based on B-spline curves modeling
TL;DR: In this article, an accurate spatial straightness error model based on B-spline curves method and a real-time errors compensation system which can compensate multiple errors at the same time in real time was presented.

- 01 Feb 2018
TL;DR: To implement real-time error compensation on large machine tools, an intelligent compensation system is developed based on the fast Ethernet data interaction technique and external machine origin shift, and experiment validations showed that the position accuracy could be improved by 90% and the machining precision could be better by 85% after error compensation.
