Human tonsillar tissue block cultures differ from autologous tonsillar cell suspension cultures in lymphocyte subset activation and cytokine gene expression.
Bettina Giger,Athos Bonanomi,Bernhard Odermatt,Kristin Ladell,Roberto F. Speck,Dejan Kojic,Christoph Berger,Felix Niggli,David Nadal +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that tonsillar tissue cultures preserve their structure only for a limited time, during which they more closely reflect processes in vivo, including a state of iatrogenic immunosuppression, than do their cell suspension counterparts.

Characterization of karyotypic events and evolution in neuroblastoma.
David R. Betts,Ninette Cohen,Kurt Leibundgut,Thomas Kühne,Ueli Caflisch,Jeanette Greiner,Luba Traktenbrot,Felix Niggli +7 more
TL;DR: Neuroblastoma (NB) is cytogenetically characterized by a number of non‐random events, however, knowledge is limited concerning the timing of occurrence and inter‐action of many of these events.

Spatial clustering of childhood leukaemia in Switzerland: A nationwide study.
Garyfallos Konstantinoudis,Christian Kreis,Roland A. Ammann,Felix Niggli,Claudia E. Kuehni,Ben D. Spycher +5 more
TL;DR: Little evidence of spatial clustering of childhood leukaemia in Switzerland is provided and the importance of accounting for multiple testing in clustering studies is highlighted.
