A comparison of open and endovascular revascularization for chronic mesenteric ischemia in a clinical decision model.
Wouter Hogendoorn,Wouter Hogendoorn,M. G. Myriam Hunink,M. G. Myriam Hunink,Felix J.V. Schlösser,Frans L. Moll,Bart E. Muhs,Bauer E. Sumpio +7 more
TL;DR: The results of this decision analysis model suggest that EV is favored over OR for patients with CMI in all age groups, and although EV is associated with more expected reinterventions, EV appears to be cost-effective for all agegroups.

Open thoracic or thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair after previous abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery
TL;DR: Patients with prior AAA repair undergoing thoracic or thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair should be provided maximum care to protect their spinal cord and renal function and risk of postoperative morbidity is increased in these patients.

The Impact of Hypovolaemic Shock on the Aortic Diameter in a Porcine Model
Frederik H.W. Jonker,Hamid Mojibian,Felix J.V. Schlösser,Donald M. Botta,Jeffrey Indes,Frans L. Moll,Bart E. Muhs +6 more
TL;DR: Increased oversizing of the endograft, or additional computed tomography (CT) or IVUS imaging after fluid resuscitation for more adequate aortic measurements, may be needed in TTAI patients with considerable blood loss.

Characteristics that define high risk in carotid endarterectomy from the Vascular Study Group of New England
Lindsay Gates,Robert Botta,Felix J.V. Schlösser,Philip P. Goodney,Margriet Fokkema,Marc L. Schermerhorn,Timur P. Sarac,Jeffrey Indes +7 more
TL;DR: Three of the SAPPHIRE high-risk criteria-abnormal stress test, recurrent stenosis after CEA, and previous radiotherapy to the neck-were not independently associated with an adverse outcome and further studies are required to determine whether CAS is inferior to CEA in high- risk patients using a validated model of risk.

Decision analysis model of open repair versus endovascular treatment in patients with asymptomatic popliteal artery aneurysms
Wouter Hogendoorn,Wouter Hogendoorn,Felix J.V. Schlösser,Frans L. Moll,Bart E. Muhs,M. G. Myriam Hunink,M. G. Myriam Hunink,Bauer E. Sumpio +7 more
TL;DR: GSVB is the preferred treatment in 65-year-old patients with aPAAs for all outcomes considered, however, patients at high risk for open repair or without suitable vein should be considered as candidates for endovascular repair.
