Simple model and control strategy of earth-to-air heat exchangers
Florent Boithias,Jian Zhang,Mohamed El Mankibi,Fariborz Haghighat,Pierre Michel +4 more
- 15 Jul 2009
TL;DR: The worldwide energy situation forces industrialized countries to reduce their energy consumption, especially in the building sector, which makes up a high proportion of the total consumption as mentioned in this paper. Techniques such as earth-to-air heat exchangers must therefore be developed and managed to meet this challenge.

Improving the urban wind flow prediction efficiency of target area by considering its surrounding buildings impact
Chang Xi,Chen Ren,Fariborz Haghighat,Shi-Jie Cao +3 more
TL;DR: This study improves urban wind flow prediction efficiency by determining optimal building layer configurations for multi-scale target areas, reducing calculation time by 73% while maintaining accuracy below 20% relative error.

Thermal Behaviour of the Diffusive Building Envelope: State-of-the-Art Review
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a state-of-the-art review of the thermal behavior of the diffusive building envelope, through which slow and nearly uniform air flows.

Experimental Procedures for Determination of Dynamic Response Using System Identification Techniques
Fariborz Haghighat,D.M. Sander +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a test using a binary multi-frequency sequence as input to determine the response of a material sample is described, and Z-transfer function coeffients are obtained using both frequency response analysis and least squares regres sion in time domain.
A double-glazed solar air- phase change material collector for nocturnal heating: model development and sensitivity analysis
Li Yang,Ning Zhang,Yanping Yuan,Fariborz Haghighat,Mohamed Dardir,Karthik Panchabikesan,Qinrong Sun +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a numerical model is developed and validated to investigate the thermal performance of the double-glazed solar air-phase change material (PCM) collector, and the heat storage (in daytime) and release (at night) process of the solar collector under different design parameters are studied by orthogonal test.
