The invention discloses a threonine modified attapulgite adsorbent and an application thereof. The adsorbent is prepared by the following steps: alkali treatment of attapulgite, firing, and threonine modification. The adsorbent prepared according to the invention has high adsorption capacity on printing and dyeing wastewater and heavy metal wastewater; the saturated adsorption capacities on methylene blue trihydrate and fuchsin acid can reach up to 650mg/g and 1,380mg/g; and the saturated adsorption capacities on copper and chromium heavy metal wastewater are 143mg/g and 81mg/g. Meanwhile, the attapulgite adsorbent disclosed by the invention is heat-resistant and low in cost, raw material sources are abundant, the preparation method is simple and feasible, and the threonine modified attapulgite adsorbent has a wide application prospect in the field of printing and dyeing wastewater treatment.

The preparation method of the modified walnut-shell adsorbent comprises: taking a biomass material walnut shells as an initial raw material, performing pretreatment, firstly reacting with a sodium hydroxide solution and a chloropropylene oxide etherifying agent, reacting the obtained primary-modified walnut shell particles with a diethylenetriamine cross-linking agent for introducing of amino groups, then performing an induced reaction on the obtained secondly-modified walnut-shell particles with acrylonitrile, and then performing further modification reaction on the obtained thirdly-modified walnut-shell particles with a mixed solution of hydroxylamine hydrochloride and sodium carbonate, and performing post-processing, so as to prepare the finished product of the modified walnut-shell adsorbent containing double amidoxime groups, wherein the finished product has brownish yellow appearance and is in the state of particles. The adsorbent provided by the invention has excellent adsorption capacity, is high in removing rate on dye in printing and dyeing waste water and substantial in treatment effect on heavy metal wastewater; the raw materials demanded by the preparation method provided by the invention is wide in resource, and the prepared finished product is excellent in comprehensive performances.

The wide occurrence of new-emerging pollutants and their potential environmental and ecological risks have recently caused great public concerns. The paper firstly put forward the severe problem. Then the possible main reasons were analyzed which might attribute to both the inefficient removal of wastewater treatment plants with conventional technology and ignorance of the monitor and control of new-emerging pollutants in the effluents. Also, the complexity and extreme high costs may also make the organizations sidestep the problem. Finally, possible strategies to deal with the problems were proposed. The upgrade of wastewater treatment plants was important and urgent.
