Amyloid-like aggregates of bovine serum albumin for extraction of gold from ores and electronic waste
Qingmin Yang,Jing Cao,Facui Yang,Yongchun Liu,Mengmeng Chen,Rongrong Qin,Lixin Chen,Peng Yang +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a sandwich-like phase-transited BSA (PTB) membrane is obtained in aqueous solution, which exhibits gold adsorption capacity per unit area up to ~316mgg−1m−2, which is 2100 times higher than those of commonly used industrial adsorbents, such as activated carbon and resins.

Toxic metal ion sequestration by amyloid-mediated fast coacervation
Facui Yang,Qingmin Yang,Mengmeng Chen,Chunyan Luo,Weixing Chen,Peng Yang +5 more
- 24 Mar 2021
TL;DR: An environmentally friendly protein-polysaccharide complex that exhibits excellent removal efficiency of toxic metal ions through amyloid-mediated coacervation, the bovine serum albumin (BSA) and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) complex, which can be formed within 1 min.

Crack Suppression in Conductive Film by Amyloid-Like Protein Aggregation toward Flexible Device
TL;DR: In this paper, an amyloid/polysaccharide molecular composite was used as an interfacial binder for flexible electronic devices to suppress the formation of micro-cracks and consequent conductivity loss during bending and stretching of flexible substrates.
