Hyperlipidemia and Sexual Function in Premenopausal Women
Katherine Esposito,Miryam Ciotola,Maria Ida Maiorino,Francesco Giugliano,Riccardo Autorino,Marco De Sio,Domenico Cozzolino,F. Saccomanno,Dario Giugliano +8 more
TL;DR: Assessment of the domains of sexual function in a representative sample of sexually active premenopausal women with hyperlipidemia, but without cardiovascular disease, as compared with an age-matched Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) population as well as age and smoking prevalence showed significantly lower arousal, orgasm, lubrication, and satisfaction scores than control women.

A role for endogenous prostaglandin E in biphasic pattern of insulin release in humans.
Dario Giugliano,P. Di Pinto,R. Torella,N. Frascolla,F. Saccomanno,Nicola Passariello,Felice D'Onofrio +6 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that endogenous PGE released in response to glucose stimulation exert an inhibiting effect on insulin release that becomes biphasic in appearance.

Glycosaminoglycans in human diabetes.
Antonio Ceriello,Dario Giugliano,P. Dello Russo,Nicola Passariello,F. Saccomanno,Saverio Sgambato +5 more
TL;DR: The present data suggest that in diabetics there is a shift in the metabolism of glycosaminoglycans towards a decreased sulfated glycosAMCans/hyaluronic acid ratio and long-lasting hyperglycemia is correlated with the disturbances in the metabolite.

Is a family history of diabetes associated with an increased level of cardiovascular risk factors? Studies in healthy people and in subjects with different degree of glucose intolerance.
A. Quatraro,D. Giugliano,N. De Rosa,A. Minei,M. Ettorre,C. Donzella,F. Saccomanno,Antonio Ceriello +7 more
TL;DR: Only in OGTT-diagnosed diabetics, was the presence of PFH associated with significantly greater levels of total cholesterol and 2h-plasma glucose, as well as a trend for triglycerides and HbA1c to be higher.

Impaired insulin secretion in human diabetes mellitus. Interactions between naloxone, phentolamine and lysine acetylsalicylate upon glucose induced insulin release.
Dario Giugliano,P. Di Pinto,Antonio Ceriello,F. Saccomanno,Nicola Passariello,Felice D'Onofrio +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a different degree of insulin potentiation between normals and diabetics under the infusion of the three agents persisted even when the prestimulus glucose level of normals was matched to that of diabetic subjects by a glucose infusion.
