The beneficial effect of atrial natriuretic peptide on cyclosporine nephrotoxicity.
Giovambattista Capasso,Claudia Rosati,Francesca Ciani,Dario Ranier. Giordano,F. Russo,Natale G. De Santo +5 more
TL;DR: Data show that the administration of ANP to rats that have been exposed to acute or chronic CyA treatment is able to reverse the harmful effect of CyA on renal function.

Hydrocortisone has a protective effect on CyclosporinA‐induced cardiotoxicity
Salvatore Florio,Roberto Ciarcia,Luca Crispino,Ugo Pagnini,Antonio Ruocco,Christine Kumar,Giuseppina D'Andrilli,F. Russo +7 more
TL;DR: In rat cardiomyocytes, CsA toxicity is due to a calcium overload, which in turn induce lipid peroxidation and determines oxidative stress‐induced cell injury, and the findings seem to suggest that glucocorticoids may be effective in reducingCsA‐induced cardiotoxicity at concentrations which are consistent with current therapeutic doses.

A decrease in renal medullary tonicity stimulates anion transport in Henle’s loop of rat kidneys
Giovambattista Capasso,Caterina Saviano,Francesca Ciani,Florian Lang,F. Russo,Natale G. De Santo +5 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that the increase in the transport rate of these two anions may be mediated, at least in part, by decreased medullary tonicity, which is one factor common both to hypertonic mannitol and hypotonic saline infusion.

Chronic administration of bumetanide upregulates calbindin D28k mRNA and protein abundance in rat distal convoluted tubules.
Maria Rosaria Rizzo,Salvatore Metafora,Francesco Morelli,F. Russo,Francesca Ciani,Giovambattista Capasso +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, Calbindin D28k has been reported to be involved in transcellular calcium transport along the rat distal convoluted tubule (DCT), and it has also been shown that adminis
