Total substitution of fish oil by vegetable oils in gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata) diets: effects on hepatic Mx expression and some immune parameters.
Daniel Montero,V. Grasso,Marisol Izquierdo,Rachid Ganga,F. Real,Lluis Tort,Maria Jose Caballero,Félix Acosta +7 more
TL;DR: Total substitution of fish oil by vegetable oils decreased the growth of gilthead sea bream juveniles and both phagocytic activity and serum alternative complement pathway activity were significantly reduced by the inclusion of either vegetable oil individually in the sea breams diets.

Characterization of the probiotic strain Vagococcus fluvialis in the protection of European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) against vibriosis by Vibrio anguillarum.
TL;DR: This strain, identified as Vagococcus fluvialis, showed good protection against Vibrio anguillarum 975-1 in vivo in the experimental challenge, showing a relative percent survival higher than positive control group, and is considered to be a good candidate for use as a future probiotic in aquaculture.

Mx expression in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L.) parr in response to Listonella anguillarum bacterin, lipopolysaccharide and chromosomal DNA.
TL;DR: A commercially available vibrio bacterin, intended for immersion vaccination, was shown to be a potent inducer of Mx gene expression in Atlantic salmon parr following intraperitoneal injection, and response was dose and temperature dependent.

First report of Streptococcus iniae in red porgy (Pagrus pagrus, L.)
F. El Aamri,Daniel Padilla,Félix Acosta,M. J. Caballero,Javier Roo,J. Bravo,J. Vivas,F. Real +7 more
TL;DR: This work describes the first isolation of Streptococcus iniae in red porgy, Pagrus pagrus (L.), and the first European isolation of this pathogen in gilthead seabream, Sparus aurata (L.).

Aiwei Zhu,F. Real,Claude Capron,Arielle R. Rosenberg,Aymeric Silvin,Garett Dunsmore,Jaja Zhu,Andréa Cottoignies-Callamarte,Jean-Marc Massé,Pierre Moine,Simon Bessis,Mathieu Godement,Guillaume Geri,Jean-Daniel Chiche,Silvana Valdebenito,Sandrine Belouzard,Jean Dubuisson,Geoffroy Lorin de la Grandmaison,Sylvie Chevret,Florent Ginhoux,Eliseo A. Eugenin,Djillali Annane,E. C. Bordé,Morgane Bomsel +23 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors studied 52 patients with severe COVID-19 and demonstrated that circulating platelets of 19 out 20 non-survivor patients contain SARS-CoV-2 in robust correlation with fatal outcome.
