Adopted values for the reduced electric quadrupole transition probability, B(E2)↑, from the ground state to the first-excited 2+ state of even–even nuclides are given in Table I. Values of τ, the mean life of the 2+ state; E, the energy; and β, the quadrupole deformation parameter, are also listed there. The ratio of β to the value expected from the single-particle model is presented. The intrinsic quadrupole moment, Q0, is deduced from the B(E2)↑ value. The product E×B(E2)↑ is expressed as a percentage of the energy-weighted total and isoscalar E2 sum-rule strengths.

Table II presents the data on which Table I is based, namely the experimental results for B(E2)↑ values with quoted uncertainties. Information is also given on the quantity measured and the method used. The literature has been covered to November 2000.

The adopted B(E2)↑ values are compared in Table III with the values given by systematics and by various theoretical models. Predictions of unmeasured B(E2)↑ values are also given in Table III.

Transition probability from the ground to the first-excited 2^+ state of even-even nuclides

Static quadrupole moments ($Q$) of ${8}^{+}$ isomers in $^{88,90}\mathrm{Zr}$ and the ${\frac{21}{2}}^{+}$ isomer in $^{91}\mathrm{Zr}$, as well as $Q$ ratios of ${8}^{+}$ isomers in $^{90,92,94}\mathrm{Mo}$, have been measured with the time-differential perturbed-angular-distribution technique. The isomers were excited by pulsed heavy-ion beams and recoil implanted into single crystals of Zr in which their quadrupole precession was observed. Our results, the first such data for high-spin isomers in the ${g}_{\frac{9}{2}}$ shell, yield large $E2$ effective charges for the ${g}_{\frac{9}{2}}$ proton and the ${g}_{\frac{9}{2}}$ neutron. The systematics of these charges are comprehensively explained by particle-vibration coupling and the blocking effect.

E2 effective charges of g9/2 nucleons derived from quadrupole moments of high-spin isomers in 88,90,91Zr and 90,92,94Mo.

High-spin states of the nucleus ${}^{88}\mathrm{Sr}$ have been studied via the reaction ${}^{80}\mathrm{Se}{(}^{11}\mathrm{B},p2n)$ at a beam energy of 45 MeV. Gamma rays were detected with the six-detector array OSIRIS CUBE. The level scheme of ${}^{88}\mathrm{Sr}$ has been extended up to $E\ensuremath{\approx}11 \mathrm{MeV}$ and $J=17.$ Mean lifetimes of three levels have been determined using the Doppler-shift-attenuation method. The level structures in ${}^{88}\mathrm{Sr}$ have been interpreted in terms of the shell model. The calculations were performed in the configuration space ${(0f}_{5/2}{,1p}_{3/2}{,1p}_{1/2}{,0g}_{9/2})$ for the protons and ${(1p}_{1/2}{,0g}_{9/2}{,1d}_{5/2})$ for the neutrons. These calculations describe the high-spin level sequences linked by $M1$ transitions with strengths of $B(M1)\ensuremath{\approx}0.3$ to 1.4 W.u. as multiplets of seniority $\ensuremath{\upsilon}=4$ and 6 states including proton configurations and neutron-core excitations.

Using bremsstrahlung, the resonance fluorescence yield has been measured for the 1.836-MeV 2/sup +//sub 1/ level in /sup 88/Sr. The observed yield corresponds to a level width GAMMA = 2.94 +- 0.15 meV.
