Selective ω-thiocaprolactam-based recovery of Au(III) from chloride media in solvent extraction and polymer inclusion membrane systems
TL;DR: In this paper, the selective transport of Au(III) over Cu(II) and Hg(II), using ω-thiocaprolactam as extractant and carrier in solvent extraction and polymer inclusion membrane transport experiments is discussed.

Facile control of ZnO nanostructures by varying molar concentration of zinc acetate
H.R. Guzmán-Carrillo,Eric M. Rivera-Muñoz,N. Cayetano-Castro,Raúl Herrera-Basurto,Zaira Barquera-Bibiano,F. Mercader-Trejo,Alejandro Manzano-Ramírez +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the synthesis of ZnO nanostructures (nano-bullets, nanorods, nanospheres) by a facile and novel modified polyol method without surfactants, varying only the molar concentration of precursor salt (Zinc acetate dihydrate) using ethylene glycol and deionized water.

CVAAS determination of naturally occurring levels of mercury in sediments after on-line preconcentration with a sol–gel sorbent doped with CYANEX-301
TL;DR: In this paper, a new on-line preconcentration method for total mercury determination in sediments by cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry (CVAAS) was developed.

Mercury determination in sediments by CVAAS after on line preconcentration by solid phase extraction with a sol-gel sorbent containing CYANEX 471X®
TL;DR: The development of a preconcentration method for the measurement of trace levels of mercury in digested sediments is described in this article, where Solid Phase Extraction (SPE) was used for the preconcence of mer...

Technical internships as a means of acquiring professional skills for future metrologists
F. Mercader-Trejo,A. Rodríguez López,G. López Granada,L. E. Narváez Hernández,R. Herrera Basurto +4 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors highlight the experiences of the undergraduate metrology students at the end of their first and second practical stay in a real-life production or research metrology company, and suggest that exposing undergraduate students to metrology related enterprises would likely stimulate the generation of highly-skilled graduated metrologists.
