TL;DR: It is suggested that, in very old patients on long-term hemodialysis, it should be considered, to avoid neurotoxicity, to monitor the clinical neurological status, to use Cefepime at lower dosage than that allowed in patients with severe renal impairment and, when possible, to evaluate CefEPime plasma levels.

TL;DR: Preliminary data indicate that heart failure represents a crucial problem in the elderly population in terms of social, economic, and health burden, and prospective studies are needed in order to assess and clearly define the risk of hospital readmission and the causes related to heart failure exacerbation in this population.
