Remarkable fungal biodiversity on northern Belgium bats and hibernacula
Pierre Becker,Claudia Van den Eynde,F. Baert,Elizabet D’hooge,Robby De Pauw,Anne-Cécile Normand,Renaud Piarroux,Dirk Stubbe +7 more
TL;DR: In this article , 114 bat specimens belonging to seven species were sampled from various locations in northern Belgium and culture-based methods revealed an important mycological diversity, with a total of 209 different taxa out of the 418 isolates.

The GEN-ERA toolbox: unified and reproducible workflows for research in microbial genomics
Luc Cornet,Benoit Durieu,F. Baert,Elizabet D’hooge,David Colignon,Loïc Meunier,Valeria Lupo,Ilse Cleenwerck,Heide-Marie Daniel,Leen Rigouts,Damien Sirjacobs,Stéphane Declerck,Peter Vandamme,Annick Wilmotte,Denis Baurain,Pierre Becker +15 more
TL;DR: The GEN-ERA toolbox can be used to infer completely reproducible comparative genomic and metabolic analyses on prokaryotes and small eukaryotes, and can be useful for other applications, as shown by a case study on Gloeobacterales.

P504 Screening of Belgian bats and hibernacula for the description of related fungal microbiomes and the detection of Pseudogymnoascus destructans
Hanne Debergh,Pierre Becker,Claudia Van den Eynde,F. Baert,Elizabet D’hooge,Robby De Pauw,Anne-Cécile Normand,Renaud Piarroux,Dirk Stubbe +8 more
TL;DR: The sampling of the hibernacula indicated that they can be inhabited by diverse fungal species including a yet undescribed Pseudogymnoascus species, distinct from P. destructans, and possible differences in fungal diversity among bat species, sampling sites, and seasons are analyzed.
