Anastasia Dressler,Eva Reithofer,Petra Trimmel-Schwahofer,Katrin Klebermasz,Daniela Prayer,Gregor Kasprian,Birgit Rami,Edith Schober,Martha Feucht +8 more
TL;DR: Although epileptiform activity on electroencephalography (EEG) persisted (especially during sleep), clinically overt seizures have not been reported since the ketogenic diet, and experience indicates that diabetes does not preclude the use of the KD.

Anastasia Dressler,Petra Trimmel-Schwahofer,Eva Reithofer,Gudrun Gröppel,Angelika Mühlebner,Sharon Samueli,Viktoria Grabner,Klaus Abraham,Franz Benninger,Martha Feucht +9 more
TL;DR: The KD is highly effective and well tolerated in infants with epilepsy and acceptance of the diet is better before the introduction of solid food, therefore, the early use of the KD during the course of epilepsy is recommended.
Efficacy and tolerability of the ketogenic diet in Dravet syndrome – Comparison with various standard antiepileptic drug regimen
Anastasia Dressler,Petra Trimmel-Schwahofer,Eva Reithofer,Angelika Mühlebner,Gudrun Gröppel,Edith Reiter-Fink,Franz Benninger,Roland Grassl,Martha Feucht +8 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that the KD ranks among currently used AEDs as an effective treatment for seizures in DS, and should be considered as an early treatment option in infants with DS.
