A randomized trial of thymoglobulin vs. alemtuzumab (with lower dose maintenance immunosuppression) vs. daclizumab in renal transplantation at 24 months of follow-up
Gaetano Ciancio,George W. Burke,Jeffrey J. Gaynor,David Roth,Warren Kupin,Anne Rosen,Tatiana Cordovilla,Lissett Tueros,Eva Herrada,Joshua Miller +9 more
TL;DR: A long‐term prospective randomized trial evaluating alemtuzumab, a humanized anti‐CD52 monoclonal antibody, in a predominantly non‐Caucasian population has yet to be reported.

Campath-1H induction therapy in African American and Hispanic first renal transplant recipients: 3-year actuarial follow-up.
Gaetano Ciancio,George W. Burke,Jeffrey J. Gaynor,Junichiro Sageshima,Eva Herrada,Lissett Tueros,David Roth,Warren Kupin,Anne Rosen,Violet Esquenazi,Joshua Miller +10 more
TL;DR: This immunosuppressive protocol appears reasonably safe for 3 years after renal transplantation but suggests higher incidences of biopsy-proven acute rejection, chronic allograft dysfunction, and borderline poorer renal function among African Americans in comparison with the other patient subgroups.

Hepatic hematoma after islet cell transplantation
Nujen Colak Bozkurt,Nujen Colak Bozkurt,Eduardo Moraes Leao Peixoto,Tatiana Froud,Eva Herrada,Andrea Corrales,Camillo Ricordi,Rodolfo Alejandro +7 more
TL;DR: A case of a massive subcapsular hepatic hematoma after intra-portal ICT secondary to arterial bleeding is described and procedure-related hemorrhages at DRI-Miami are reviewed.
Effect of Exenatide on Gastric Emptying and Graft Survival in Islet Allograft Recipients
Eduardo Moraes Leao Peixoto,Tatiana Froud,L.S. Gomes,L. Mireles Zavala,Andrea Corrales,Eva Herrada,Camillo Ricordi,Rodolfo Alejandro +7 more
- 01 Nov 2011
TL;DR: Long-term exenatide administration up to 4 years was safe in islet transplant recipients, even in the presence of delayed gastric emptying, and the use of new GLP1 analogs with longer half lives and fewer side effects may help to attain higherGLP1 levels, therefore improving islet function and survival.

The Use of 1.5-Anhydroglucitol for Monitoring Glycemic Control in Islet Transplant Recipients:
Eduardo Moraes Leao Peixoto,Nujen Colak Bozkurt,Shari Messinger,Maria Isabel Del Olmo Garcia,Vincenzo Lauriola,Andrea Corrales,Eva Herrada,Camillo Ricordi,Rodolfo Alejandro +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that 1,5-AG can be used to differentiate those ICT subjects with higher glucose variability despite having near-normal HbA1c, and prospective studies are needed to evaluate the association between GlycoMark levels and the parameters of graft dysfunction/failure.
