Combining Charge-Switch Derivatization with Ozone-Induced Dissociation for Fatty Acid Analysis
Berwyck L. J. Poad,David L. Marshall,Eva Harazim,Rajesh Gupta,Venkateswara R. Narreddula,Reuben S. E. Young,Eva Duchoslav,J. Larry Campbell,James A. Broadbent,Josef Cvačka,Todd W. Mitchell,Stephen J. Blanksby +11 more
TL;DR: This analysis uncovers significant isomeric diversity within the fatty acid pool of this sample, including a number of hitherto unreported double bond positional isomers that hint at the activity of potentially new metabolic pathways.

Aneta Kalužíková,Aneta Kalužíková,Vladimír Vrkoslav,Eva Harazim,Eva Harazim,Michal Hoskovec,Richard Plavka,Miloš Buděšínský,Zuzana Bosáková,Josef Cvačka,Josef Cvačka +10 more
TL;DR: Cholesteryl esters of ω-(O-acyl)-hydroxy FAs (Chl-ωOAHFAs) were identified for the first time in vernix caseosa and characterized using chromatography and MS and their general structure was established using high-resolution and tandem MS of intact lipids, and products of their transesterification and derivatizations.

Nonhydroxylated 1-O-acylceramides in vernix caseosa
Eva Harazim,Eva Harazim,Vladimír Vrkoslav,Miloš Buděšínský,Petr Harazim,Martin Svoboda,Richard Plavka,Zuzana Bosáková,Josef Cvačka,Josef Cvačka +9 more
TL;DR: Medium-polarity 1-O-ENSs likely contribute to the cohesiveness and to the waterproofing and moisturizing properties of vernix caseosa.
