TL;DR: The introduction of Free-Form technology has brought new ways of calculating progressive lens designs, offering a wider range of lenses using different design technologies, and the main goal of lens designers is to improve visual quality, ease of adaptation, etc., or in other words, improve the overall satisfaction of the user.
