Geothermal resources within carbonate reservoirs in western Sicily (Italy): A review
Domenico Montanari,Angelo Minissale,Marco Doveri,Gianluca Gola,Eugenio Trumpy,Alessandro Santilano,Adele Manzella +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a multidisciplinary and integrated review of the existing geological, geochemical and geophysical data, mainly acquired during oil and gas explorations since the 1950s, specifically re-analyzed for geothermal purposes, has led to understanding the western Sicily geothermal system as a whole, and to reconstructing the modalities and particular features of the deep fluid circulation within the regional reservoir.

Predicting geographical suitability of geothermal power plants
Gianpaolo Coro,Eugenio Trumpy +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a suitability map of potential geothermal sites at global scale, which is the result of the application of data collection and preparation processes, and a Maximum Entropy model, to geospatial data potentially correlated with geothermal site suitability and geothermal plants operation.

Preliminary 3-D geological models of Los Humeros and Acoculco geothermal fields (Mexico) – H2020 GEMex Project
Philippe Calcagno,Gwladys Evanno,Eugenio Trumpy,Luis Carlos Gutiérrez-Negrín,José Luis Macías,Gerardo Carrasco-Núñez,Domenico Liotta +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, preliminary 3-D models have been constructed for two sites located in the easternmost region of the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt, including Los Humeros and Acoculco, in order to have a coherent geological interpretation of both sites.
Geothopica and the interactive analysis and visualization of the updated Italian National Geothermal Database
Eugenio Trumpy,Adele Manzella +1 more
TL;DR: The contents of the database and its software and data update, as well as the webGIS tool including the new tools for data lithology and temperature visualization are described, which are of use not only for geothermal purposes, but also for any kind of georesource and CO2 storage project requiring the organization of, and access to, deep underground data.

Data integration and favourability maps for exploring geothermal systems in Sicily, southern Italy
Eugenio Trumpy,Assunta Donato,Giovanni Gianelli,Gianluca Gola,Angelo Minissale,Domenico Montanari,Alessandro Santilano,Adele Manzella +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a data integration tool was used to identify potentially undiscovered geothermal resources in the island of Sicily, and the factors facilitating the recovery of exploitable geothermal energy were defined, and their spatial correlation established by Geographic Information System (GIS) models.
