Premedication in children: hypnosis versus midazolam.
TL;DR: The aim of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of hypnosis on anxiety and perioperative behavioral disorders versus midazolam.

Comparative hemodynamic depression of sevoflurane versus halothane in infants : An echocardiographic study
Eric Wodey,Patrick Pladys,Catherine Copin,Marie Madeleine Lucas,Andra Chaumont,Carre P,Bernard Lelong,Olivier Azzis,Claude Ecoffey +8 more
TL;DR: Sevoflurane causes a lesser decrease in cardiac output than does halothane in infants, and Halothane caused a greater decrease in heart rate, shortening fraction, stress-shortening index, velocity of circumferential fiber shortening, Stress-velocity index, and cardiac index at all concentrations.

Eric Wodey,Patrick Pladys,Catherine Copin,Marie Madeleine Lucas,Andra Chaumont,Carre P,Bernard Lelong,Olivier Azzis,Claude Ecoffey +8 more
TL;DR: Sevoflurane causes a lesser decrease in cardiac output than does halothane in infants, and Halothane caused a greater decrease in heart rate, shortening fraction, stress‐shortening index, velocity of circumferential fiber shortening, stress-velocity index, and cardiac index at all concentrations.

Impact of age on both BIS values and EEG bispectrum during anaesthesia with sevoflurane in children.
Eric Wodey,Olivier Tirel,Jean-Yves Bansard,Anne Terrier,Charles Chanavaz,Robert Harris,Claude Ecoffey,Lotfi Senhadji +7 more
TL;DR: The EEG bispectrum, as well as the BIS, appeared to be strongly related to the age of children at 1 MAC sevoflurane, demonstrating that the different values of BIS obtained in younger or older children are mainly dependent on their MatBis.

The impact of age on bispectral index values and EEG bispectrum during anaesthesia with desflurane and halothane in children
TL;DR: In children, BIS values are linked to age irrespective of the volatile anaesthetic agent used, bringing into question the ability of the EEG bispectrum to accurately determine the depth of anaesthesia.
