Phytoremediation and Its Mechanisms: A Review
Emmanuel E. Etim
- 01 Jan 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss different phytoremediation mechanisms and their potentials as remediation techniques that utilize the age long inherent abilities of living plants to remove pollutants from the environment but which are yet to become a commercially availabl e technology in many parts of the world especially the developing countries.
Water Quality Index for the Assessment of Water Quality from Different Sources in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria
Emmanuel E. Etim,R. Odoh,Adams Udoji Itodo,S. D. Umoh,U Lawal +4 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: Water quality of different sources of water (stream, borehole and pipe born water) in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria was evaluated by Water Quality Index (WQI) technique as discussed by the authors.
Extraction and Characterization of Rubber Seed Oil
J.E. Asuquo,A. C. I. Anusiem,Emmanuel E. Etim +2 more
- 01 Jan 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, the physicochemical properties of rubber seed oil (RSO) were investigated using standard techniques in order to obtain specific data for the oil, and the results showed that RSO can be exploited in the production of environmentally f riendly solvent-borne and water reducible coatings and in other industries.
Systematic theoretical study on the interstellar carbon chain molecules
TL;DR: In this article, an extensive investigation of the stabilities of interstellar carbon chains was carried out, where high-level ab initio quantum chemical calculations were employed to accurately estimate the enthalpy of formation, chemical reactivity indices, global hardness and softness, and other chemical parameters of these molecules.

Abstract: Water quality index (WQI) provides a single number that expresses the overall water quality, at a certain location and time, based on several water quality parameters. The objective of WQI is to turn complex water quality data into information that is understandable and usable by the public. A number of indices have been developed to summarize water quality data in an easily expressible and easily understood format. The WQI is basically a mathematical means of calculating a single value from multiple test results. This chapter discusses, in detail, the application of a water quality index for the assessment of water quality to different several water sources in Nigeria.
