Rock Detection in a Mars-Like Environment Using a CNN.
Federico Furlán,Elsa Rubio,Humberto Sossa,Victor Hugo Ponce Ponce +3 more
- 26 Jun 2019
TL;DR: A convolutional neural network is proposed to obtain a segmented image of rock detection in a Mars-like environment using a modified version of the U-net architecture with a smaller number of parameters to improve the inference time.

Design and Implementation of a Visual Fuzzy Control in FPGA for the Ball and Plate System
Marco A. Moreno-Armendáriz,Elsa Rubio,Cesar A. Perez-Olvera +2 more
- 13 Dec 2010
TL;DR: A design of Mamdani-type fuzzy control is proposed and a visual feedback is provided in order to complete the ball-and-plate system and a full new real time system is achieved.

Optimal grasping points identification for a rotational four-fingered aerogripper
J. Vazquez,Matteo Giacomini,Juan Escareno,Elsa Rubio,Humberto Sossa +4 more
- 01 Nov 2015
TL;DR: In this paper, a 5 degrees of freedom gripper was used to grasp reactive objects during fast aerial pick-and-place maneuevers, and an optimization framework was introduced to identify the optimal contact points between the end-effector and the object.

Humanoid robot hierarchical navigation using Petri nets and fuzzy logic
Federico Furlán,Elsa Rubio,Humberto Sossa,Victor Hugo Ponce Ponce +3 more
- 01 Sep 2017
TL;DR: The proposed system is a supervisory structure formed by two hierarchical levels of a discrete event system formed by a Petri net that indicates the sequence of motions that the robot has to make.

Vertex Codification Applied to 3-D Binary Image Euler Number Computation
Humberto Sossa,Humberto Sossa,Elsa Rubio,Victor Hugo Ponce Ponce,Hermilo Sánchez +4 more
- 27 Oct 2019
TL;DR: An alternative method to compute the Euler number of a 3-D digital object (image) in terms of a codification of the vertices of the object voxels is described and emerges as an extension of the proposal introduced for the 2-D case and as alternative of the formulation well described.
