Why does understanding the biology of fibroblasts in immunity really matter?
TL;DR: Fibroblasts are known for their ability to make and modify the extracellular matrix and support immune responses in organs as mentioned in this paper , however, there is more to them than meets the eye and they display a spectrum of functional states and can swing between these states depending on the needs of the organ.

Isoprenoids enhance the stability of fatty acid membranes at the emergence of life potentially leading to an early lipid divide.
TL;DR: Intriguingly, isoprenoids strongly inhibit the tendency of vesicles to aggregate together in the presence of either Fe particles or FeS precipitates, suggesting striking physical differences in the stability and aggregation of protocells may have shaped the divergence of bacteria and archaea in early hydrothermal environments.
