Prognostic scores for early stratification of septic patients admitted to an emergency department-high dependency unit.
Francesca Innocenti,Simone Bianchi,Elisa Guerrini,Sonia Vicidomini,Alberto Conti,Maurizio Zanobetti,Riccardo Pini +6 more
TL;DR: SOFA score is a feasible and accurate tool for an early risk stratification of septic patients admitted to the emergency department-high dependency unit (ED-HDU), and the cost saving associated with HDU stay compared with ICU stay is estimated.

Communication during handover in the pre-hospital/hospital interface in Italy: from evaluation to implementation of multidisciplinary training through high-fidelity simulation
Francesco Dojmi Di Delupis,Paolo Pisanelli,Giovanni Di Luccio,Maura Kennedy,Sabrina Tellini,Nadia Nenci,Elisa Guerrini,Riccardo Pini,Gian Franco Gensini +8 more
TL;DR: In the authors' simulations, an absence of standardization of the handover communication process, marked variability in information communicated, and a lack of formal transfer of responsibility of patient care were found.

Prognostic value of emergency physician performed echocardiography in patients with acute pulmonary thromboembolism.
Maurizio Zanobetti,Cristiano Converti,Alberto Conti,Gabriele Viviani,Elisa Guerrini,Vanessa Boni,Sonia Vicidomini,Claudio Poggioni,Aurelia Guzzo,Alessandro Coppa,Sofia Bigiarini,Francesca Innocenti,Riccardo Pini +12 more
TL;DR: Great values of AT, minor RV diameter, greater LV diameter and a lesser RV/LV ratio were associated with a short-term improvement of TAPSE−/PASP− values.
Survey about the level of knowledge of the emergency medical service in the population of Florence and Prato after the introduction of the unique number for emergencies 112
TL;DR: A survey about the level of knowledge of the emergency medical service in the population of Florence and Prato after the introduction of the unique number for emergencies was carried out by as discussed by the authors .
Left Ventricular Systolic Longitudinal Function as Predictor of Outcome in Patients With Sepsis.
Vittorio Palmieri,Francesca Innocenti,Aurelia Guzzo,Elisa Guerrini,Damiano Vignaroli,Riccardo Pini +5 more
TL;DR: In patients with sepsis assisted in a high-dependency observational unit, feasibility of assessments of left ventricular EF and GLS within 24 h from the hospitalization was acceptable and EF showed no prognostic relevance, whereas GLS showed a correlation with mortality rate potentially relevant in shorter more than in longer follow-ups.
