Meta-analysis of synaptic pathology in Alzheimer's disease reveals selective molecular vesicular machinery vulnerability
TL;DR: A meta‐analysis study finds that loss of synapses best correlates to cognitive deficits in Alzheimer's disease in which oligomeric neurotoxic species of amyloid‐β appears to contribute synaptic pathology.

TL;DR: These data provide the first genetic evidence and functional studies supporting the role of MAPT p.A152T as a rare risk factor for both FTD-s and AD and the concept that rare variants can increase the risk for relatively common, complex neurodegenerative diseases is suggested.
Impact of APOE genotype on neuropathologic and neurochemical markers of Alzheimer disease.
TL;DR: The ε4 allele does not predict cholinergic decline in AD and a putative protective role for the ε2 allele in AD may be mediated by reduced plaque burden.

Non-A beta component of Alzheimer's disease amyloid (NAC) is amyloidogenic.
TL;DR: The results suggest that NAC can form amyloids after it has been cleaved out of its precursor and may be a crucial factor in amyloidosis in the AD brain.

TL;DR: Competing evidence is provided that a) ALP inhibition increases SNCA in neuronal EVs, b) distinct ALP components are present in EVs, and c) CSF EVs transfer S NCA from cell to cell in vivo is provided.
