Leakage corrected spatial (assembly) homogenization technique
Farzad Rahnema,Eleodor Nichita +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a homogenization technique is developed to account for the interassembly neutron leakage effect on the homogenized parameters within generalized equivalence theory, and the method is implemented into a two-group nodal diffusion model.

A heterogeneous finite element method in diffusion theory
Eleodor Nichita,Farzad Rahnema +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new Heterogeneous Finite Element Method (HFEM) is presented, which does not require prior assembly-level homogenization and which accounts for the leakage effect.

Evaluating accuracy of standard homogenization and need for generalized equivalence theory for ACR®-lattice checkerboard configurations
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors assess the accuracy of the standard homogenization method when applied to checkerboard ACR-lattice configurations and investigate whether the use of generalized equivalence theory (GET) yields more accurate results.

Molybdenum-99-producing 37-element fuel bundle neutronically and thermal-hydraulically equivalent to a standard CANDU fuel bundle
Eleodor Nichita,Jawad Haroon +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a modified 37-element fuel bundle, suitable for the production of 99 Mo in existing CANDU-type reactors, is proposed, which is specifically designed to be neutronically and thermal-hydraulically equivalent to the standard 37 element fuel bundle in normal, steady-state operation.
