Myocardial technetium-99m-tetrofosmin single-photon emission computed tomography compared with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose imaging to assess myocardial viability.
Arend F.L. Schinkel,Jeroen J. Bax,Elena Biagini,Abdou Elhendy,Ron T. van Domburg,Roelf Valkema,Vittoria Rizzello,Olaf Schouten,Maarten L. Simoons,Don Poldermans +9 more
TL;DR: Technetium-99m-tetrofosmin single-photon emission computed tomography at rest is practical for routine assessment of viability in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy, however, underestimation of viability may occur compared with 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose single- photon emission compute tomography, especially in the inferoposterior and septal regions.

Management of nonischemic-dilated cardiomyopathies in clinical practice: a position paper of the working group on myocardial and pericardial diseases of Italian Society of Cardiology.
Marco Merlo,Marco Masè,Antonio Cannatà,Denise Zaffalon,G. Lardieri,Giuseppe Limongelli,Massimo Imazio,Marco Canepa,Silvia Castelletti,Barbara Bauce,Elena Biagini,Ugolino Livi,Giovanni Maria Severini,Matteo Dal Ferro,Martina Perazzolo Marra,Cristina Basso,Camillo Autore,Gianfranco Sinagra +17 more
TL;DR: This review attempts to summarize each step in NIDCM management, highlighting the multiple interactions between peripheral and referral centers, from first-line diagnostic workup and therapy to advanced heart failure management and long-term follow-up.

Left ventricular function after ST-elevation myocardial infarction in patients treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention and abciximab or tirofiban (from the Facilitated Angioplasty with Tirofiban or Abciximab [FATA] Trial).

TL;DR: This study showed no difference in LV function recovery in patients undergoing primary PCI treated either with abciximab or high-dose bolus tirofiban.

TL;DR: The advantages and added value of such a multidisciplinary effort to understand pathogenesis, clinical aspects and try to find a cure for Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy, Mandibuloacral dysplasia, Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria and forms of lamin-linked cardiomyopathy, neuropathy and lipodystrophy are highlighted.
Emery–Dreifuss muscular dystrophy Type 1 is associated with a high risk of malignant ventricular arrhythmias and end-stage heart failure

TL;DR: Male EMD variant-carriers have a risk of progressive heart failure and ventricular arrhythmias similar to that of male LMNA variant-carriers, and early implantable cardioverter defibrillator implantation and heart failure drug therapy should be considered.
