Structural and fluorescence quenching characterization of hematite nanoparticles
TL;DR: The role of iron oxide nanoparticles in fluorescence quenching of coumarin thiourea derivatives (I-IV) was investigated at room temperature (296 K) by means of steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy, and the sphere of action static quenched model agrees very well with experimental results.

Emission characteristics and photostability of N,N'-bis(2,5-di-tertbutylphenyl)-3,4:9,10-perylenebis(dicarboximide)
TL;DR: In this article, the electron beam exposure of the samples was achieved with a CR I SO Electron Processor (Energy Sciences, Inc., Woburn, MA) which allowed exposures of the sample in an atmosphere of nitrogen.

Fluorescence enhancement of coumarin thiourea derivatives by Hg2+, Ag+, and silver nanoparticles.
TL;DR: Fluorescence enhancement by factors of 5-12 times 8-alkyl thiourido-7-ethoxy-4-methyl coumarin derivatives was observed upon complexation with Hg(2+), Ag(+), and Ag nanoparticles, revealing a chelation-enhanced fluorescence (CHEF) mechanism with the formation of 1:2 complexes in Hg (2+/coumarin) derivatives and 1:1 complexes in Ag (+) derivatives.

A highly efficient and selective turn-on fluorescent sensor for Hg2+, Ag+ and Ag nanoparticles based on a coumarin dithioate derivative
Heba A. El-Shekheby,Ahmed H. Mangood,Salem M. Hamza,Ahmed S. Al-Kady,El-Zeiny M. Ebeid,El-Zeiny M. Ebeid +5 more
TL;DR: Fluorescent probe acts as a rapid and highly selective "off-on" fluorescent probe and fluorescence enhancement by factors 5 to 12 times was observed upon selective complexation with Hg(2+), Ag(+) and Ag nanoparticles.

A new coumarin laser dye 3-(benzothiazol-2-yl)-7-hydroxycoumarin
TL;DR: In this article, the electronic absorption, and emission spectra as well as fluorescence quantum yield of 3-(benzothiazol-2-yl)-7-hydroxycoumarin (BTHC) were measured in different solvents and are affected by solvent polarity (Δf).
