A semi-random field finite element method to predict the maximum eccentric compressive load for masonry prisms
TL;DR: In this article, a numerical model based approach to address the associated uncertainty for the prediction of the maximum compressive load of masonry prisms is presented. But the model is not suitable for the analysis of existing structures and the construction of new masonry buildings and the results were compared to the final experimental testing results.

Uncertainty analysis of the effect of grout injection on the deformation of multi-wythe stone masonry walls
TL;DR: In this article, a Latin Hyper cube simulation method was used in conjunction with a parametric finite element model to randomize the material properties of each stone and relevant grouting layers.

Development of a probabilistic model for the prediction of building damage due to tunneling induced settlements
Julie Clarke,Ehsan Moradabadi,Debra F. Laefer +2 more
- 01 Jan 2013
TL;DR: In this paper, a probabilistic model for predicting the damage to buildings due to tunneling, which combines the volume loss method with the equivalent beam model, is presented, and a probability-based method for determination of the limiting value of settlement that is used for control purposes during the tunnel construction is described.
