In this work, we present a simple, environmentally friendly and economical route for the preparation of a novel copper-Schiff-base organometallic complex on Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@Schiff-base-Cu) using an inexpensive and simple method and available materials. This magnetic nanocatalyst was comprehensively characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray mapping, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) analysis. In the second stage, the catalytic activity of this catalyst was studied in the synthesis of polyhydroquinoline derivatives via Hantzsch reaction in water as a green solvent. In this sense, simple preparation of the catalyst from the commercially available materials, high catalytic activity, simple operation, short reaction times, high yields and use of green solvent can be regarded as some advantages of this protocol. In addition, it is worth mentioning that this nanocatalyst was easily recovered using external magnet and reused for several times without significant loss of its catalytic efficiency. Finally, the leaching, heterogeneity and stability of Fe3O4@Schiff-base-Cu were studied by hot filtration test and ICP technique. A green and novel Fe3O4@Schiff-base-Cu catalyst sucssesfully was prepared and characterized. This catalyst can be used for the Synthesis of polyhydroquinolines in water as the green solvent. This catalyst could be recovered easily and reused many times without important decrease in efficiency.

New Copper Complex on Fe3O4 Nanoparticles as a Highly Efficient Reusable Nanocatalyst for Synthesis of Polyhydroquinolines in Water

A comprehensive review on the synthesis, characterization, and catalytic application of transition-metal Schiff-base complexes immobilized on magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles

We have developed green, efficient and powerful protocols for the preparation of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines and 1,8-dioxodecahydroacridines in the presence of Fe3O4@TiO2@O2PO2(CH2)2NHSO3H as a sulfonic acid-functionalized titana-coated magnetic nanoparticle catalyst under mild and solvent-free reaction conditions. These protocols furnished the desired products in short reaction times with good to high yields (20–40 min and 80–86% in the case of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines; 15–90 min and 80–93% in the case of 1,8-dioxodecahydroacridines). The final step of the mechanistic route in the synthesis of 2,4,6-triarylpyridines proceeds via an anomeric-based oxidation. Also, the nanomagnetic core–shell catalyst can be recycled and reused in both cases of the scrutinized one-pot multicomponent reactions with high turnover number and turnover frequency.

Catalytic evaluation of copper (II) N‐salicylidene‐amino acid Schiff base in the various catalytic processes

A novel ionic liquid (IL) and nanostructured molten salt (NMS) based on triethylammonium were synthesized and characterized. Their catalytic activities for the synthesis of 2-amino-4-aryl-6-(arylamino)pyridine-3,5-dicarbonitriles via a one-pot three-component condensation reaction between several aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and aniline derivatives at 50 °C under solvent-free conditions by anomeric-based oxidation (ABO) as a mechanistic approach were examined and suitable results were attained using triethylammonium trinitromethanide [TEATNM] as an ionic liquid catalyst and triethylammonium tricyanomethanide [TEATCM] as a nanostructured molten salt catalyst. The novel ionic liquid (IL) and nanostructured molten salt (NMS) were fully characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR and 13C NMR), mass, thermal gravimetric (TG) and derivative thermal gravimetric (DTG) analysis, differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) analysis. Both the experimental and theoretical studies have supported the ABO mechanism for the described organic synthetic methods. Given the non-toxic, inexpensive and recyclable characteristics, these reaction conditions are simple and environmentally friendly.

Efficient synthesis of pyrazole derivatives catalyzed by a dioxomolybdenum complex supported on functionalized Fe3O4 magnetite nanoparticles containing a Schiff base ligand is reported The synthesized catalyst was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) This heterogeneous catalyst can be reused several times without significant loss of its catalytic activity The described metal-complex immobilized on MNPs catalyst was efficiently tested in the synthesis of pyrazole derivatives via three-component condensation of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile and phenylhydrazine with short reaction times and good yields and also ease of separation, recycling and reusability of catalyst Besides, the catalyst could be recovered in a facile manner from the reaction mixture and recycled eight times without loss in activity Also, a mechanistic approach was proposed for the final step of the synthesis of pyrazole derivatives which was supported by theoretical studies
