The quality and performance of the organic non-linear optical material (-)2-(α-methylbenzylamino)-5-nitropyridine (MBA-NP)
Raymond T. Bailey,Frank R. Cruickshank,S. M. G. Guthrie,B.J. McArdle,H. Morrison,David Pugh,Eea Shepherd,John N. Sherwood,Choon Sup Yoon,Raman Kashyap,B. K. Nayar,K. I. White +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, a coherence length of 2 μm (cf. MNA 0.7 μm and quartz 20 μm) and phase-matching second harmonic generation (efficiency 0.5% at 58.8 MW cm -2 ; comparable with lithium iodate) was observed for 1.05 μm radiation incident at 28.8° to the y -axis on the y-z incident plane.

Phase-matched Optical Second-harmonic Generation in the Organic Crystal MBA-NP, (−)2-(α-methylbenzylamino)-5-nitropyridine
Raymond T. Bailey,Frank R. Cruickshank,S. M. G. Guthrie,B.J. McArdle,H. Morrison,David Pugh,Eea Shepherd,John N. Sherwood,Choon Sup Yoon,Raman Kashyap,B. K. Nayar,K. I. White +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a large rotation of the X and Z dielectric axes with wavelength (30° over 200 nm) was observed, and phase matched second-harmonic generation was recorded for rotation about X to an angle of incidence of 45°.

The growth, perfection and properties of organic non-linear optical materials I. 4-nitro-4'-methyl benzylidene aniline
TL;DR: In this article, single crystal specimens of the organic nonlinear optical material 4-nitro-4′-methyl benzylidene aniline (NMBA) have been grown from the melt (Bridgman technique) and from solution (slow cooling technique).
