TL;DR: The educational efforts in Turkey have met with success for transition from collecting single bottle blood culture sets to two bottle blood cultures, however, further efforts are needed to increase the number of bloodculture sets collected during a 24 hours' period.
Characterization of Klebsiella pneumoniae Coproducing KPC and NDM-1 Carbapenemases from Turkey.
TL;DR: The characteristics of isolates coproducing KPC and NDM-1 carbapenemases from patients hospitalized at an emergency unit in Ankara, Turkey, between January and August 2018 are described and it is concluded that continuous monitoring of carbapanemases for unusual carbapentemase production is crucial to prevent the spread of these powerful isolates.
